It’s not necessary to lug around a huge honking 17-inch laptop to get the full functionality you need on a daily basis. Unless you plan on some hardcore SLI graphic-heavy gaming, a smaller, lighter, more portable unit will do you just fine. I’ve always had a soft spot for the smaller notebooks on the market, and the Fujitsu LOOX P70T/V is one of the tiniest out there. This ultraportable Tablet PC sports an 8.9-inch WXGA touch screen display and weighs just 2.2 pounds.
Under the hood, you won’t find top-notch innards, but it is certainly powerful enough to handle most of your day-to-day tasks. The processor is a simple Intel Core Solo U1400 (1.2GHz) unit, backed up by 512MB of DDR2 RAM and a 30GB hard drive. Rounding out the features are a pair of high-speed USB 2.0 ports, all three flavours of WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and an integrated SD card reader. Optical drives will have be of the external variety.
Look for the Fujitsu ultraportable LOOX P70T/V Tablet PC to start shipping on September 25th, with an asking price of US$2,142.
